As the first Dota 2 Major of this year’s Pro Circuit Season, ESL One Stockholm is a high-caliber tournament kicking off on the 12th of May. It features 14 teams competing for a prize pool of $500,000.00 and 2900 circuit points. This includes many top-ranking favorites such as Team Spirit, Team Liquid and OG.
Split into two groups of 7 teams, the group stage will last for 4 days, while the playoffs begin on the 16th of May, culminating in the grand finale on Sunday the 22nd. All group stage matches are played best of 2, while playoff matches are best of 3 and the final best of 5.
Only one team from each group is eliminated in the group stage. Fifth and sixth-place finishers end up in a lower bracket in the playoffs from where it’s harder to win, while other teams end up in an upper bracket.
